Vintage Rail Cars on the
Amtrak Coast Starlight

On Saturday, January 31, 2009, the Amtrak Coast Starlight was pulling a pair of vintage streamliner cars: the Southern Pacific Overland Trail and the Boston and Maine Salisbury Beach.

Coast Starlight The Coast Starlight pulling into the station.

Salisbury Beach The Boston and Maine Salisbury Beach is is a Pullman sleeper with six roomettes, four bedrooms, and six sections. It was built in 1954.

Salisbury Beach Conductor Bill Hatrick of the Overland Trail stands at the door of the Salisbury Beach.

Bill Hattrick These two vintage rail cars will pass through the area again on May 16 at the beginning of a tour of the Pacific Northwest.
